Blood Drive
Tuesday, August 12, 2008 @ 6:49 PM - By Janet
Clay is doing better this afternoon. He is struggling with fever that comes and goes. This morning it was up to 103.9. This is not anything unusual and nothing the doctors did not expect. His immune system is low and very easy to catch anything.
The sores in his mouth are much better. Please continue to pray for something that he will eat or drink that taste good to him. He has lost about 12 pounds. The doctor is not concerned about him not eating, but he must drink to keep the sores out.
As soon as his levels are good and the fever is gone for 24 hours, he will begin his second treatment of chemo. The side affects should get better with each treatment as his body becomes more used to it.
The tumors or shrinking daily. I was amazed at how much his abdomen has gone down and is very soft again. The large tumor on the right is much smaller and softer as well. It is amazing at the difference in just one week. The chemo is working great. Please continue to pray for him to gain strength to eat and drink and keep it down.
He did have to receive one unit of blood and one unit of platelettes. The doctor is encouraging anyone to donate that can. We are having a blood drive to benefit Clay on August 28 from 2 to 8 at Victory Life Church in Atoka. We do need volunteers to help work the drive as well as anyone who can to donate. The same day, Pat is going to have a benefit hamburger supper at the church for anyone to donate to the family. We will be needing lots of help to make this all happen at one time. I can be reached at 254-534-4416 or email me if you need further information. We would appreciate everyone that can, to donate to Clay.
This is a very hard and long battle, so please continue to pray for Clay as well as for Aubrey, Tammy, Derek, Brett, Brooke, Aaron, and the rest of the family.
Thanks for all your prayers and thoughts.

Test Results
Thursday, July 31, 2008 @ 1:25 PM - By Janet
Tammy just got the lab results back from Clay's lab this morning and all the test came back excellent. Praise God. She thinks he will be getting chemo today, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday and then he will be there for 72 hours after the last dose to flush the chemo from his body. He did lose 6 pounds since he has been home so please pray that he will start eating better again.

Clay headed back to Tulsa
Thursday, July 31, 2008 @ 9:40 AM - By Janet
Just a reminder, Clay is headed back to Tulsa this morning for more chemo. He has been complaining with abdomen pain yesterday, throwing up once, and did not sleep well last night. Please pray that it is the tumors already breaking down and not something else. Just remember to pray for him the next few days. This treatment is supposed to be more intense. I will send updates as I get them.
Love Janet
Just a Little Update...
Wednesday, July 29, 2008 @ 04:10 PM - By Aaron
I just thought that I would let everyone know Clay is doing really well. He has been at home since last Friday and doesn’t have to go back to the hospital until this weekend.
He has mainly been relaxing since he is at home. He got “Rockband” for the Nintendo Wii for his birthday and is now playing on the hard level. That is good news for sure that he is well enough to still progress in something he is passionate about.
He has complained about having minor headaches, but as someone who has lived with my dad and Tammy I’m not sure that its anything related to the cancer. ;-)
Also, I would like to thank everyone who has donated so far. You have no idea what a blessing you are to us. Please keep praying for us.

Clay's First Chemo
Wednesday, July 24, 2008 @ 10:08 AM - By Janet
I just wanted to give everyone an update on Clay this morning. He tolerated his first dose of chemo like a champ. We all knew that he would because God is answering everyone's prayers. He has not been ill in any way at all from it. He has gained five pounds since getting to Tulsa and beginning the treatments. That is great news since we were told that he would lose a lot of weight. Praise God for every miracle that we continue to see in this wilderness that we are walking. God is so incredible and is showing off in tremendous ways.
Tomorrow is Clay's birthday and he will be getting to come home tomorrow. That is another miracle since we were told that he would be there three weeks this first treatment. He is an amazing little boy and a hero in my eyes.
Please keep praying for Clay and his healing, but please pray for Aubrey and Tammy as well.
Thanks again for all your prayers and I will keep everyone posted.
Pray for Clay

I just wanted to thank everyone for the prayers, calls, and all the love that you have shown me once again in the middle of tragedy. You are my family, my support group and I love each and every one of you dearly.
I just wanted to give everyone an update on Clay. He is progressing every day. The lab just confirmed that there is no cancer in his spine or bones. HALLELUJAH The confirmed diagnosis is pediatric grade3 Burkitt's lymphoma. His blood work is all back to normal and he is just doing great. The cancer is spread all through his abdomen with slight affects to the liver and kidney. The doctor, who is wonderful, is still reassuring us of a 100% recovery after 6 months of chemo. The chemo will be very hard as it will reduce his immune system completely.
Please pray for him this afternoon. He will be receiving his first major dose of chemo. They have already started him on the drugs to counter react the upset stomach and bad effects the chemo has. As long as he can tolerate this dose, he will be able to come home on Friday for a few days. By the way, Friday is his birthday and we are praying for him to be home.
I will keep everyone posted as we get more news. If anyone would like to send him a card, their address is 1211 S Chisolm Road, Caddo, OK 74729.
